Backend Developer, MyJobFactory.com
Why
Recruiters were reading hundreds of applications by hand to find the few that fit a role. The reading was the bottleneck, not the deciding.
How
I built the engine that reads a job description and a candidate profile and scores how well they match, so a person only reads the top of the list. It ran as a live scoring service across hundreds of roles, and I led the six-person team that owned the backend logic.
What came out
40%, less manual screening time across 500+ roles.
What broke
The first version ranked on the job description alone and rewarded candidates who used the same words as the posting. Scoring against the role and the profile together fixed most of it, but keyword echo never fully went away.
Mind the gap
Internship. The code belongs to the company, so this station is described and not shown.
